The Castrated Soul

✦ The Castrated Soul — a poem about shame and reclamation.

The Castrated Soul

Castrated soul, covered in darkness —
reveal your light, reveal your flame,
once buried deep beneath the shame.

Castrated soul, step out of the night —
unfold your colours, take back your joy,
follow the glow that was always yours.

Castrated soul, awaken and rise —
step out from the noise,
reclaim your laughter,
reclaim your voice.

Castrated soul —
you were never broken, only restrained.

Castrated soul, reveal your wounds —
a broken heart is easier to repair.
A broken soul takes longer…
to soothe.

Always,

Zahra
